Do you have 'boring life'?

What would you describe as a “boring life”?

Just sitting on your couch all day after work? Cleaning? Taking care of kids? Working and then coming home to do nothing for the rest of the evening?

My question to you is: “If you have a ‘boring life’, do you enjoy it? Would you change anything about it? Would you rather have an exciting life?”

My answer? No. No, I wouldn’t change anything about my ‘boring life’. I don’t like working. But I don’t mind the before and after ‘life’ from my job.

I wake up early to either go to the gym or have coffee/juice with my Dad. Get the dog fed while he makes breakfast and get ready for another work day.

When I get home from work, I come inside, immediately change into pajamas, take my contacts out and switch to my glasses, and hang out in the kitchen with my family and pup and talk about my day and listen to them about their day.

Then eat some kind of dinner (or no dinner at all if I’m not hungry) and get ready for bed. Then I come into my room, turn all my plant lights off for the night and call my pup in to come up to bed with me and go to sleep.

That’s it. That’s my routine. My ‘boring life’ as most would call it.

I don’t have a partner. I don’t have kids. I live with my disabled parents and sister, dog and sister’s cat.

I don’t go to parties, I don’t go to clubs, I don’t even go to friend’s houses recently.

My sister says that me enjoying my boring life is a reflection of enjoying my depression activities.

And she may have a point in that. Laying down in bed, being home just enjoying the quiet, seems very depression-like to me. But to be honest? I don’t really care. I ENJOY my boring life and doing anything else gives me such bad anxiety because it’s stepping out from my ‘norm’.

What are some things that you do during your ‘boring life’? Do you have certain hobbies or projects you work on? Do you doom scroll? Do you just lay there and day dream? Nap? Let me know.

P.S. Going to my nephew’s birthday party after work in about 30 minutes. Wish me luck. I’d rather be home. It’s a good thing I love that stinker.
