Hi there, everyone! Beta here! I just wanted to hop on and introduce myself. I’m Lauren and one of Kayla’s best friends. You may see me on here from time to time, either commenting, helping proofread or helping to add content when our fearless leader has hit writer’s 🚫.

A little about me:

Although I’ve known for a while, I was just recently diagnosed with ADHD (AT 36!!!) and will be talking to a MH dr soon about treatment plans. I’m also a full time working mom (of 2 ADHD kids) and wife, with 2 dogs and 3 hermit crabs 🦀.

I love to write when I myself don’t have writer’s block and reading, I could get sucked in for hours lol. I also love to bake, especially experimenting with cheesecakes 😉.

While not for everyone, I like to hunt when I have time (with kids, it isn’t much time) but im actually currently in the woods now as I type this, which prompted me to type this up. Check this out!

Hunting aside, I could also just sit out here for hours, just enjoying nothing but the quiet. Listening to nature’s music, the crickets chirping, the squirrels chattering, the woodpeckers going at the trees, the birds and the wind blowing through the tops of the trees. Seeing the beautiful colors of the leaves changing, the shimmering strands of webs stretching from branch to branch, and taking in a deep breath of the earth, with nothing but the smell of clean air and petrichor.

I highly suggest taking time to go out, it doesn’t have to be far from a highway to drown out the city noise. Sometimes doing absolutely nothing actually is doing something.

Trying to manage a household, a family, or a job in a leadership position can be extremely taxing on its own, untreated mental illnesses aside. So please, as often as you can, take advantage of the small moments and appreciate the little things, and NEVER forget to make time for you. You can’t take care of anyone else if you aren’t taking care of yourself.

Next time I’m on, I’ll give y’all an update on my ADHD med journey and some things that have worked for me in managing my life and some things that I’m still working on.

Until then, that’s all for now. See ya!!!
